At the D8  conference, Dell confirmed the details of the launch of the United States for the Streak. The 5-inch tablets cost as much as an IPAD and cost $ 500 unlocked in the U.S. comes with a video output dock. Americans should have the tablet in late July.

Whether it would be subsidized by AT & T has not said. UK buyers can purchase the device for free on a contract with  25 pounds or more  cellular plan.

Dell’s spokeperson Ron Garriques avoided comparisons with Apple in the conference and said it was not a smart phone or tablet, but it has features of both. It is more like a communicator, enough for Garriques to abandon the use of a telephone.

Dell device has some advantages over the same price IPAD, including front and rear cameras as well as 3G, but it gives all, but 2 GB of internal space and uses a lower screen resolution to reflect their size. Using Android 1.6 will limit the types of applications and features to the line until an operating system upgrade in late summer or early fall.
