Google Maps Nav hits Android 1.6 ahead of iPhone
Google Android has today given an additional advantage by carrying Google Maps for mobile navigation Android 1.6. The update makes the T-Mobile G1, myTouch 3G devices and some international support for the tower system’s navigation tower, which was previously limited only to the device Android 2.0, Motorola droid.
It lacks some features that rely on Android 2.0, such as voice recognition, but still supports the view of the bird and the Street View. Google also offers a unique feature of the APA to create shortcuts to locations on the home screen and go to the Department in advance.
Update soft navigation requires a free download of a beta version of Google Maps from the Android Market.
Android Update gives an additional advantage for intelligent navigation based, providing advanced security, free directions that are generally not available elsewhere. Google said that talks with Apple for the iPhone functionality, preferably through cards native software written by Apple itself, but has not said how you can implement functionality or with what limitations. iPhones using voice commands, but are not necessarily guaranteed to achieve the same level of functionality.
