Samsung debuts 64GB SSD full-HD camcorder
Samsung Electronics has expanded its range of Full HD camcorders with four new digital models – HMX-H106, H105-HMX, HMX-H104, H100 and HMX. In addition to Full HD video, the new H series offers a famous Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan HD lens with optical image stabilization, H.264 and internal solid state drives to provide the internal memory. The new flagship of Samsung HMX-H106 has an internal 64 GB Solid State Drive (SSD), increasing both write performance and reduces power consumption. The company claims that, when active reading and writing data, the SSD technology from Samsung uses about 1/8th of the power of a comparable hard disk.
HMX HMX-H105 and H104-offers 32GB and 16GB SSD, respectively, and as HMX-H106, also allow consumers to increase the memory by SD / SDHC. The lower-end H100 HMX has no internal DSS and requires the use of an SD memory card / SDHC.
The new H Series Full HD digital camcorders also use H.264 compression, which significantly increases the recording time. Samsung said that during the capture full HD resolution (high quality mode), users can record up to three hours directly to the HMX-H104 16 GB, six hours for the 32GB H105 HMX, and 12 hours the HMX-H106 64GB.
Varioplan HD camcorders features a Schneider Kreuznach 10x optical zoom and is associated with the new Samsung optical image stabilization to help reduce blur and shake his hand. The Schneider lens also has a length of 37 mm wide angle lens.
The H-Series also offers direct connections HDMI, features a strobe flash, and the ability to capture digital photos 4.7 mega-pixel. In addition, the cameras offer a large touch screen 2.7-inch swivel LCD and HD time lapse functions.
The H106 will be available in April 2009, while the H105, H104, H100 and will be available in March 2009.
