Samsung intros 50-inch, 1.1in thick plasma HDTV
Samsung has recently announced some features of what appears to be plasma HDTV 8-series the first time at CES. The 50-inch 850 PAVV is only 1.14 inches (29 mm) thick and houses tuner. Samsung says it is also 40 percent more energy efficient, and that about 57 pounds, 20 percent lighter than the corresponding model of the previous generation.
TV has a 1080p resolution and DLNA support. With software and USB 2.0 ports, allowing users to watch videos in DivX, view photos or play MP3 files from external drives or USB sticks.
These features are expected to see a standard 58-inch Samsung plasma is also preparing, if no more detail than it is 50 percent thinner than the previous generation of television and weighs about 80 pounds.
Price or release date for each model is also unknown. Samsung Plasma HDTV offers an 8-series in North America, and is not clear whether it was the first series to come into the market.
